Once again, Blakell Europlacer Distribution hosted its annual Technology Open Day for customers and prospects of its full SMT line solutions.

The event has run for a number of years but 2019 saw a record uptake attracted by the comprehensive range of equipment on display, the CFX and Industry 4.0 presentation by Aegis’s Michael Ford, and by the now-famous outdoor Hog Roast – the latter benefiting from another hot sunny Dorset day.

In all, more than 70 delegates attended, representing a cross-section of surface mount community professionals from global EMS providers and Tier 2 & 3 contract manufacturers to OEMs from the automotive, aero engine, security & forensic, industrial control, measurement & instrumentation, power distribution and medical technology sectors.

Speedprint and Europlacer applications and technical support crew ran demonstrations on the companies’ screen printers, placement platforms, intelligent storage solution and the new goods-in scanning system. Representatives from principals including Aleader, Tagarno, Tannlin, Brady, Seamark ZM, BOFA, TSM and Inovaxe contributed throughout the day with interactive product demonstrations of the premium equipment ranges distributed by Europlacer Distribution in the UK as part of its full line solution.

For the first time in the UK, Inovaxe demonstrated its impressive Inocart Smart Component Storage Management System. “We were delighted to host Inovaxe as, without doubt, it is a rising star in the intelligent storage space. The smart Inocart attracted a great deal of interest,” says Andy Jones, Europlacer Business Development and UK Sales Manager.

Despite being hosted a month earlier than last year, the Dorset weather showed up with blazing sunshine and temperatures in the low 20’s. It made the outdoor setting for the company’s famous hog roast the perfect setting for lunchtime networking.

“Feedback from the day has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Jones. “It shows that key industry figures are still prepared to make time to review the latest equipment solutions and process technologies – and take the opportunity to share stories with other Europlacer and Speedprint customers.”
